Visit to the Medicinal Plant Garden of Dr. Cseke-Árkosi Katalin in Odorheiu Secuiesc
On June 6, 2026, the members of the Transylvanian Medicinal Plant Garden Association, together with numerous nature enthusiasts, visited the medicinal plant garden of Dr. Cseke-Árkosi Katalin, located on the outskirts of Odorheiu Secuiesc.
Our host guided us through her fascinating garden of approximately 80 ares, developed with passion over nearly two decades and now home to more than 300 plant species. As an agricultural engineer, agricultural consultant, and educator, Katalin has dedicated her entire life to plants, firmly believing that each of them carries its own healing properties.
The garden features plants connected to Hungarian traditions, medicinal herbs associated with saints, as well as numerous rare and remarkable species. The visit offered not only the opportunity to discover the richness of the plant world, but also to better understand the philosophy behind this place: respect for nature, appreciation of diversity, and the importance of passing on knowledge to future generations.
We spent a truly pleasant day, enriched by valuable information, inspiring conversations, and shared experiences. We thank Kati for her warm hospitality and for generously sharing the treasures and experience of her garden.
We enjoyed the company of a wonderful group and returned home full of energy, new ideas, and lasting memories.
