Within this project we made up two training centers: one at LIA-Foundation in Locodeni and the other one through the Civitas Foundation in Dezimir (county Cluj). Beside organizing professional meetings, our aim is to offer the possibility of a practical training. Both training centers works as an incubator, disposing of the necessary equipment for collecting and processing of medicinal plants.
At the same time we assure the possibility to shape up a herb garden in Locodeni village, this way creating new jobs for socially disadvantaged people. The activity of the training centers will start in February 2016: during the 11 meetings the experts will deliver a practical training about wildcrafting, creating herb gardens, as well as about economic use and processing possibilities of aromatical and medicinal plants.
LIA Foundation, Locodeni
The Youth Foundation of Locodeni (LIA) runs several projects that beside professional training and job creation for disadvantaged persons aims to pass along local traditions and values to future generations. Taking this role in the „Transylvanian Herb Garden” project is a similar mission: they try to offer plenty of space for wildcrafters in order to preserve and prompt the usage of the inherited natural pharmacy.
Civitas Foundation from Cluj-Napoca
To the Civitas Foundation from Culj-Napoca it is important to promote through this project the subsistence of traditional medicine. The best spot proved to be village Dezimir from parish Apahida, at the Agro Transilvania center, where the practical part of the training will take place, while the theoretical training for volunteers will be held in Cluj-Napoca, at Cipariu square, in the office of Civitas Foundation, headquarter Cluj-Napoca. Beside the tratidional naturophatic medicine this partnership also supports the socially disadvantaged families through offering them the possibility for an extra income.
